A possible merger between the TV5 Kapatid Network and GMA7 Kapuso Network has been reported by the Philippine Entertainment Portal. Manny Pangilinan, the owner of the TV5 Station has allegedly offered an amount that is ‘hard to refuse’ to the GMA management. The offer was even describe as “mind-boggling” by the people involved.
However, the deal was not yet sealed and on its 2/3 completion because some shareholders of the GMA7 Network still have hesitations or they are holding out for better offers. But, reports say that the figures, though not indicated, is impossible to counter.
With this possible merger, one could not help but wonder what will happen to the soon-to-be sole rival network, ABS-CBN Kapamilya Network? Will the Kapuso-Kapatid versus Kapamilya be a good and fair match?
