Lupe Fiasco, with the real name Wasalu Muhammad Jaco, is an American rapper, record producer and entrepreneur. He rose to fame in 2006 following the success of his debut album “Lupe Fiasco’s Food & Liquor”. This same album received 3 Grammy nomination.
His most recent album is the “Lasers”. The release of the album was delayed for 2 years. And the wait for the album was not fruitless. Upon the release, “Lasers” debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart. However, even with its success, it received mixed reviews from critics.
And now, to the delight of his Filipino fans, Lupe Fiasco is here in the Philippines, confirmed by his first tweet when he got here:
“Hit you like Pacquio PHILLIPINES, PHILLIPINES!!!” Manila here we come!!! Need banging food spots ASAP…No Pork though! ; )
Also, in one of his tweets, he mentioned that he got a special connection with Philippines. Also, he said that his single “Kick Push” is 100% Pinoy and the produced for it is Filipino.
