Elections are getting closer. As usual, as early as now, some people are already eyeing possible candidates for certain positions, especially for the Senatorial election. Several personalities have already expressed their wish to run for the Senate. Some who were quiet about their plans for the upcoming elections were continuously being intrigued or asked by the people. One of the personalities who were eyed by many for a senatorial position is Governor Vilma Santos-Recto.
Award-winning actress and Batangas Governor Vilma Santos, however, said in an interview with ABS-CBN that she has no plans to run for senate in 2013 elections. She said that she has no ambitions of becoming a lawmaker. Aside from that, Santos, who is the wife of Senator Ralph Recto, has no wish to add to the several families who are already in the Senate right now.
“Ang dami nang magkapamilya sa Senado, dadagdag pa kami? Wala akong ganyang ambisyon,” –Vilma Santos
Meanwhile, in the midst of the controversial Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN), the governor/actress said that she is willing to divulge her SALN to the public in order to prove that all her properties are legal. Santos also admitted to having foreign currency accounts.

Still an in-demand endorser, Vilma Santos was launched as one of the endorsers of Generic Medicine, along with 2012 Bb. Pilipinas-Universe Janine Tugonon.
