Following the lunar eclipse last Saturday is another celestial phenomenon to be witnessed by people. A meteor shower will be occurring tonight until tomorrow morning. This is the Geminids meteor shower.

The meteor shower happens annually. And its peak of occurrence tonight has been confirmed by the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.
The rate of the shower will be 40 meteors per hour. This will start at around 9:30 pm (Philippine time). Even with the interference of the waning gibbous moon in the sky tonight, people are still excited to witness this celestial phenomenon.
This meteor shower is caused by the object 3200 Phaethon, which is thought to be Palladian asteroid. It is an annual celestial phenomenon which was first obeserved 150 years ago.
