“Gandang Gabi Vice” extended until February

Few days ago, rumors erupted that Vice Ganda’s top-rating Sunday show Gandang Gabi Vice will be replaced by the popstar princess Sarah Geronimo’s Sarah G Live. However, no official statement was released by the ABS-CBN regarding this alleged replacement.

Even with no confirmation, thousands of the GGV viewers/fans were alarmed by this rumor. The rumor and fans’ reactions were all over the social networking sites, and possibly have reached the big bosses of ABS-CBN.

The rumor was even more ignited when last Sunday, January 22, GGV did not air on TV. This even trended on twitter as Walang GGV, proving the popularity of the said tv show. This made the record of being the only show on Philippine TV that ever trended on twitter even if not aired.  However, the non-airing of GGV that night has nothing to do with the rumored replacement. The real reason was because the Kapamilya network aired a Chinese New Year Countdown special that night, which started from the time slot of GGV onwards.

Due to public demand, plan of GGV’s cancellation has been delayed. In the entertainment blog site darlasauler.com, it was said that the top-rating show will be extended until February. No final decision yet as to what will happen to the show afterwards. But, fans and avid viewers still have sure one month to enjoy the show.

To appease the audience of the one night of non-airing, GGV will be Live, once again, this Sunday, January 29. The guests will be Angel Locsin (for the 2nd time) and John Lloyd Cruz (first time).
