Another Little Mermaidish Philippine drama is set to conquer the prime time TV ratings.
After the success of Marina and Mutya, “Aryana”, an upcoming offering of ABS-CBN to their Prime Time Bida viewers, is expected to be a top-rater. It is about a teenager who turns into a mermaid when her legs come into contact with water. In the teaser shown by the Kapamilya channel, Aryana seemed to come from a well-off family. The teaser also implied that she has a kikay and happy-go-lucky personality.
The title role, Aryana, will be played by Goin’ Bulilit alumnus, Ella Cruz. This will be Cruz 1st ever leading role in ABS-CBN, however, she was already known by her lead role in the rival network GMA-7’s Super Twins, wherein she turns into the character of Nadine Samonte when she and her twin (portrayed by Nicole Dulalia who turns into Jennylyn Mercado’s character) transform to access their magical power.
When Cruz transferred from Kapuso to Kapamilya, she become a regular in the youth-oriented gag show Goin Bulilit. After her graduation from the show, Cruz was given the role of the young Agnes (Cristine Reyes) in the currently airing ABS-CBN soap, Dahil sa Pag-ibig, wherein she was paired with the young Alfred (Piolo Pascual), Francis Magundayao.
In Aryana, the teen actress will be paired with Paul Salas. Joining them in the casts are Pokwang, Tonton Gutierrez, Desiree del Valle, Laurice Guillen, Tetchie Agbayani, Rustica Carpio, and Lotlot de Leon.
Aryana, directed by Erick Salud and Lino Cayetano, will premiere this summer on ABS-CBN Prime Time Bida.
